Your adventure commences as you are greeted by our driver-guide upon arrival in Kigali. The transfer to Goma provides a chance to appreciate the picturesque scenery, with a scheduled lunch stop along the way. Border crossing formalities will be completed before arriving at your lodge for an overnight stay.
Accom: Kibumba Tented Camp
An early start takes you from Bukima into Virunga National Park for a memorable gorilla trek. Accompanied by experienced rangers and porters, and equipped with necessary provisions, you’ll embark on a search for mountain gorillas, which can take between two and six hours. An hour is dedicated to observing these magnificent animals in their natural surroundings, providing a truly enriching experience. Afterwards, you will return to your accommodation, filled with unforgettable memories.
Another early morning awaits, offering a second opportunity to trek and encounter a different gorilla family. This further enhances your appreciation for these extraordinary primates. A packed lunch and porter service will again be provided to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable trek.
Following breakfast, the journey back to Goma begins, followed by the border crossing into Rwanda. You will then have the option to relax in Gisenyi or proceed directly to Kigali. You may then choose to rest at your hotel in Kigali or be transferred to Kigali International Airport for your onward travel, concluding your exploration of Virunga National Park’s remarkable gorilla population.
