Your arrival at Kigali International Airport marks the start of your Rwandan adventure. A warm welcome awaits from our driver-guide, who will accompany you on a brief yet informative tour of Kigali. Following the city tour, you’ll be transferred to your Kigali accommodations.

After an early breakfast, you’ll begin a picturesque journey to Akagera National Park. The drive from Kigali takes approximately 2.5 hours, offering opportunities to admire the Rwandan countryside (with optional photo stops). Akagera is renowned for its impressive Big Five population and diverse wildlife. Upon arrival, you’ll check in and enjoy lunch at your chosen accommodation. The afternoon features a relaxing boat trip on Lake Ihema, a prime location for observing hippos and crocodiles in their natural habitat.

Following a substantial breakfast and check-out, prepare for an exciting game drive through Akagera National Park. This extensive exploration, lasting between five and six hours, will traverse the park from south to north, showcasing its varied terrain. The park is home to the Big Five – lions, black rhinos, elephants, giraffes, and buffaloes – as well as numerous antelope species. With over 500 species, Akagera is also a haven for birdwatchers.
